The police came to Letchworth on Saturday thankfully on pleasure and not business. Rumour had it that they where looking for a Crook but i told them Mitch had not signed this season. (sorry could not resist).
The first half was pretty non eventful with both defences keeping the strikers at bay. Dan Goad made a good save after 15 minutes to deny the visitors and on the stroke of
half time the visiting goalkeeper saved well from Ben Antcliffe.
The second half was 7 mins old when Mets Police had a goal disallowed for offside Malcolm Lee the eagles linesman was then questioned by the Police bench. The judge in this case the ref agreeing with Malcolm.
On the hour mark Jan Genisis and Tenchy outfoxed the police and made a sub. The sub (Jack Edwards) having an immediate impact setting up Joe De La Salle on the edge of the box who hit a bullet of a shot to give Letchworth the lead.
5 minutes later Letchworth where awarded an indirect free kick inside the box after the keeper picked up a back pass. Bravely (after Joe’s last strike) the police set up a
wall how they must have wished they had their sheilds with them. Danny Large laid the ball of to Joe. The next time you saw the ball it was coming down off the bar and in the net.
The Reserves have madeĀ a great start to the season two wins 3 goals for and none against. Next week the Reserves visit Wormley lets hope we come home with 3 more points.
