Today’s game sees us hosting Bedwell who are in good form and are looking to top the table this weekend, despite Eagles having three out injured and one away which puts them down to the bare eleven which includes our goalkeeper having to play out field the girls are in high spirits and are up for the challenge. The game starts and Eagles start brightly getting a firm hold of the centre of the park, Bedwell who play some good football and start to settle and begin to put the pressure on in our final third but our defence is well up to the job and look capable of dealing with anything thrown at us. We then have a good fifteen minute spell and counter attack well creating some good chances, with ten minutes to half time the Bedwell forward produces a clinical finish and puts Eagles 1-0 down going into the break.
Eagles are dealt a half time blow with one of their key players picking up a hamstring strain but bravely refuses to come off and continues to play with her heart on her sleeve. Eagles start in the same vein as they did in the first half soaking up the pressure and counter attacking well and look good for the first fifteen minutes but are dealt a blow by conceding a very soft penalty, our keeper gets her hands to it but not quite enough to keep it out, Eagles go 2-0 nil down. This knocks the stuffing out of us and lifts Bedwell but the girls bravely refuse to lie down and carry on battling for a result but Bedwell prove to be too strong on the day and score another two.
