Eagles Reserves 0 Buntingford Reserves 0 aet Buntingford win 5-4 on penalties

Not much positive to say about this game Buntingford came to defend and defend they did. Rarely did they venture out of their half keeping everybody behind the ball.

Jay Drackford had a chance in 5th minute but failed to hit target. A Jake Tyler free kick was spilt by keeper in 20th minute and scrambled away for corner. Buntingford had a rare attack in 29th minute and a lack of talking between Adide and Watson almost resulted in an own goal from the pursuing corner Adide gave another corner away. The Eagles keeper could have gone in for his half time break after this attack. With 7 minutes to go Consigli wasted a free kick for the Eagles.

Eagles came out determined to score and Danny Large had two early chances to break the deadlock. Eagles dominated possession but could not find a way past the organised Buntingford team. The visitors had a rare venture forward in the 81st minute but failed to hit target. 5 minutes later they thought they had completed a smash and grab but the assistant ref’s flag thwarted them.

So the game went to extra time and the pattern much the same as previous 90 Eagles dominating but not creating chances. Antcliffe hit post in 120th minute.

The game went to penalties and its Buntingford that will be flying the flag for the county league after a 5-4 win.
