The coaching sessions resume on the 5th of September at Pixmore playing fields – 5:30 to 6:30 every Wednesday.
Ben Good and I (James Adide) have been volunteering to do the goalkeeping coaching for the Eagles Goalkeepers for about a year now.
Being associated with Letchworth Garden City Eagles FC, I have had nothing but admiration for the work that is done both on and off the pitch by everyone at the club.
Ben and I have completed our Level 1 goalkeeping coaching and are looking to do Level 2 soon.
Our coaching sessions usually take an hour every week. Depending on the numbers, we work on various things goalkeeping related. It is important that young and aspiring goalkeepers understand the technical aspects of goalkeeping and our training sessions concentrate on this while mixing it up with some fun and games. It has been enjoyable working with goalkeepers of varying ages and even gender, showing the diverse talent that our football club has.
The coaching sessions resume after a summer break for Ben and I, on the 5th of September at Pixmore playing fields. We run these sessions between half 5 and half 6, every wednesday.
During the winter months, we will move to Baldock, Knights Templar 3g playing fields.
Last year these sessions were run free of charge as part of the work we want to do for the football club. During the winter months however, there will be a small fee, going towards booking the pitch.
I look forward to the new season and working with the Eagles Goalkeepers, both old and new!
