The Eagles produced some of the best form of the season to beat high flying Sarratt in a game which could have produced many more goals for the Eagles.
It took only 15 minutes for Eagles to get on the score sheet, Sam Gittings outpaced chasing defenders and placed the ball wide of the advancing keeper at the edge of the penalty area into the net. Sarratt equalised almost immediately afterwards with their first serious attack of the game when the long ball over the top of the Eagles defence brought a result.
Although Eagles were dominating the match they could not turn their superiority into goals until before half time a Gittings cross shot found the net . Gittings was having a fine match showing that his good form over recent weeks was no fluke.
After half time Eagles continued to push forward, and Fami Fajiobi scored their third not long after half time from close range. Sarratt scored a second 15 minutes later to set up a close finish, but in the dying minutes of extra time Fajiobi was brought down from behind in the penalty area and Carl Williams netted the penalty. Amazingly the Sarratt central defender did not receive a yellow or red card, but this proved to be almost the last action in the game.
With four wins on the bounce Eagles can look forward to their Aubrey Cup fixture at Bovingdon next Saturday.
