Letchworth eagles under 9 reds finish of a fine season by winning the Royston town tournament.
Sticking with their passing style of football the reds breezed through the group stage winning all the games playing some attractive attacking football along the way.
The semi final was a nervy affair and after controlling most of the game eagles were grateful to debutant goalkeeper Joshua for pulling off two incredible saves late on, having missed chance after chance the reds were held 0 0 and the game went to a penalty shoot out.
Eagles made their way to the final with more fine goalkeeping from Joshua saving two out of the three penalties.
The final looked like it might be a tough game playing against a Royston team in their own tournament, the home team came out all guns blazing and took an early lead after a rare defensive mistake by eagles. The reds took a while to get going but started playing the ball around with confidence and two quick goals by Charlie A gave Letchworth the lead, a third goal soon came with Alex scoring from a quick counter attack.
The game finished 1 4 with a brilliant last minute solo effort by lewis, a well deserved win for the Eagles.
