Club Welfare Officers

The club Welfare Officer is Kirsty Bush who can be contacted on 07973137660 or dash.bush@virgin.net. If she cannot be contacted and the matter is urgent please contact Trevor Sostacenko on 07771547227 or eaglessos@aol.com.

The club welfare officers have the responsibility for ensuring that children and young people who play for the Eagles can play football in a safe and non threatening environment, and are not subject to any physical or oral abuse. If you have any concerns whether they arise from the behaviour of a team official or another adult associated with the club, or indeed a visiting team, please discuss them with Kirsty or Trevor. Club welfare officers will also report any incidents of serious abuse that are drawn to their attention to the appropriate authorities, irrespective of whether that abuse may occurred outside the football environment.

Eagles u17 Yellows - 07/08 Season

Under 17 Yellows Cup Final

Letchworth Garden City Eagles Yellows 1 Hitchin Town Youth 6

This was always going to be a tough game for the Eagles up against the Hitchin Academy team. Hitchin had walked away with the first division title going unbeaten. Eagles had the first real chance of the game with the goalkeeper making an instinctive save from Elliott. For forty minutes you would not have known which team were the Academy team in an even contest. In the 40th minute Hitchin took the lead from a header inside the box. Eagles then went down to ten men whilst Miller received treatment. During this time Hitchin were awarded a soft penalty. 2-0 at half time.

Eagles came out in the second half determined to put up a fight and again had the goalie at full stretch to deny a goal. Shortly afterwards Hitchin were 3-0 up from a free kick. Unfortunately 3 more goals were conceded from long range the sort of shots that 9 times out of 10 go anywhere but the net.

The Eagles did have the last say when Platt scored a goal that would be shown over and over again if Ronaldo had scored it. Unfortunately SKY did not choose to broadcast this game.

At the end of the day the players did themselves and the name of Letchworth Garden City Eagles proud by reaching the final and finishing third in the league.
