Whether you’re brand new to football or keen to grow your coaching knowledge, we’ll help you get qualified, confident, and supported — with funding available at every stage.
🔹 Getting Started: FA Playmaker & DBS Checks
All new coaches start with:
FA Playmaker – an online course introducing the basics of coaching, safeguarding, and making sessions fun
FA Introduction to Coaching Football (UEFA C Pathway) – your first on-pitch coaching qualification
Enhanced DBS Check – required for all volunteers working with children
Safeguarding Children & Introduction to First Aid in Football (IFAIF) – both fully funded and refreshed every 3 years
These are arranged in partnership with the club and fully funded once approved.
🎓 Want to go further?
If you’re ready to develop beyond the introduction level, we encourage coaches to pursue further qualifications like:
UEFA C Licence
Youth Module CPD Courses
Specialist courses (goalkeeping, futsal, disability football etc.)
We’ll help you:
Identify the right pathway
Access grant funding via the Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation
Cover course fees where possible (full or partial) based on length of service and course type
Just speak to us first so we can support your application properly — don’t book anything without checking in!

Intro-level courses (Playmaker, First Aid, Safeguarding, DBS) – fully funded by the club
UEFA C and specialist CPD – may be funded via grants or part-funded by the club (subject to approval)
Heritage Foundation Coaching Grants – available through the Sporting Success scheme. We’ll help with the form and club authorisation
Sponsorship & fundraising – can also be used to enhance your team’s coaching and training budget

Please don’t book any courses before checking with the club. We’ll guide you through the correct process and make sure funding is approved in advance.

Once you’ve booked (with approval), send your confirmation and certificate to the club and we’ll process any agreed refund or reimbursement.
