Want To Coach?

Whether you’re a parent on the sidelines, a football fan who loves working with young people, or someone looking to give back to the game — coaching at Letchworth Eagles could be for you.

We support over 40 teams across all age groups and abilities, and we’re always looking for passionate, positive people to help our players grow.

What's Involved?

Coaching at our club is a voluntary role. Typically, you’ll need to be available for:

One training session per week (usually weekday evenings)
Weekend matchdays (Saturday or Sunday depending on age group)

You won’t be doing it alone — we encourage co-coaching, admin support from parents, and we’ll help you find a structure that works for your life.

Do I Need Experience?

Not at all. Some of our best coaches started with zero experience — just a willingness to get stuck in.

We’ll guide you through the FA Playmaker course and support you through the UEFA C licence and other coaching pathways if you choose to progress. We’ll also cover your FA First Aid, Safeguarding Children, and Enhanced DBS checks.

What Support Will I Get?

Plenty. As a volunteer coach, you’ll have access to:

Fixtures and league admin support
Shared training ideas and mentoring from experienced coaches
Equipment for running sessions (balls, bibs, cones, etc.)
Guidance on communication, parent engagement and player development

We’re a big club, but we’re proud of our community feel — there’s always someone to turn to.

What About Kit And Costs?

There’s no cost to you to become a coach.

Your coaching qualifications, DBS, and safeguarding checks are fully covered by the club.

Player kit for each team is funded via sponsorship, (under 7’s are provided with free kit) which we help you secure. You’ll also receive essential training gear to run your sessions.
