Find Out More About Our Teams
Letchworth Garden City Eagles FC is proud to be one of the largest and most inclusive football clubs in the region, with over 600 players across all age groups — from toddlers taking their first kick of the ball to senior players representing the club at Step 6 of the National League System.
Our setup is designed to provide every player, regardless of age or ability, the opportunity to grow, develop and enjoy their football journey in a positive, safe, and community-focused environment.
Saturday Soccer School (Ages 3–7)
Our club journey starts with the Saturday Morning Soccer School, run by our UEFA-qualified coaches and dedicated volunteers. Designed for boys and girls aged 3 to 7, this is where future Eagles stars take their first steps in football.
It’s all about fun, fundamentals, and friendships, helping children learn the basics through age-appropriate sessions that encourage coordination, teamwork, and a love for the game. Many of our current youth team players – and even some of our senior players – began here.
Sessions run weekly at The County Ground on Baldock Road, and there’s no need to commit to a full season up front. Just turn up, sign in, and play.
Youth Teams (U7–U18)
Letchworth Eagles has grown to include almost 50 youth teams, offering football for boys and girls across every age group from U7 to U18.
Our teams compete in a variety of well-respected leagues across the region, including:
- Royston Crow Youth League
- Mid Herts Rural Minors League (MHRL)
- Herts Girls Partnership League (HGPL)
- Eastern Junior Alliance (EJA)
- Junior Premier League (JPL)
- Southern Counties Floodlit Youth League (SCFYL)
With regular training sessions, dedicated coaches, and structured pathways in place, we aim to create an environment where young players can not only enjoy their football but also progress at the level that’s right for them — whether that’s development-based or performance-driven.
We pride ourselves on offering inclusive football for all, while also helping high-potential players access elite level opportunities through our EJA and JPL teams.
Girls’ Football
Our girls’ section continues to grow year-on-year. With teams across various age groups, we’re passionate about giving girls the platform and support to shine. Many of our female players also go on to represent the club at senior level, progressing into the Letchworth Eagles Women’s First Team.
Inclusive Youth Football Team – Supporting Your Child to Thrive
We’re proud to offer inclusive football sessions for every Friday evening, designed especially for children who benefit from a supportive, flexible and understanding sporting environment.
Our experienced and trained coaches create a space where every child can feel safe, confident, and part of the team. Whether your child is completely new to football or already enjoys playing, they’ll be welcomed and supported from the moment they arrive.
We follow Hertfordshire FA’s guidance for pan‑disability football, which brings together children with a wide range of needs who find mainstream football environments challenging.
Our positive and inclusive sessions are designed to be enjoyable, structured, and accessible. Players take part in:
- Accessible and engaging football activities
- Skill‑building games
- Mini‑matches
- Teamwork and social interaction
- Encouraging, patient coaching
We have been certified by The Football Mental Health Alliance as a Neurodiversity Club which was gained through completion of the Understanding Neurodiversity in Grassroots Football training programme.
Jason Valentine, Inclusive Football Lead said:
“Letchworth Eaglesl, are committed to making football a game for everyone. This training has helped us further understand the challenges some players face and the small changes we can make to have a big impact. We adapt activities to suit individual needs, ensuring every child can participate meaningfully and feel proud of their progress. Our aim is to help children grow in confidence, communication, and independence- as well as football skills. We’re excited to put what we’ve learned into practice and to see our players and their families feel even more supported and included.”
We’d love to welcome your family to our inclusive football community, where every child is supported to enjoy the game and feel part of something special. If you’d like to find out more information, please email inclusive@letchwortheagles.org.uk

U21s & U23s: Bridging the Gap
Our U21 and U23 teams are a crucial part of our club’s player pathway, designed to bridge the gap between youth football and the senior game.
These teams offer competitive football in structured adult leagues, with opportunities to train and progress toward our senior squads. It’s ideal for players who want to continue developing after U18s while staying connected to a club that knows their journey.
Women’s First Team
Our Women’s First Team offers adult female players a high-level football environment with regular training, competitive fixtures, and a strong sense of togetherness.
The team is an important part of our club’s long-term strategy to develop the women’s game and provide genuine progression for our younger female players.

Be Part of Something Bigger
