Having lost here in a league fixture a young Eagles side put their recent poor league results behind them and were worthy winners of this cup tie thanks to a hat trick by Rod Agyeman-Duah.

The home side had the best of the game in the first half hour shooting wide of the Eagles goal from a good position after 16 minutes and on 24 minutes sending a low shot flashing across Eagles penalty area with no home player able to apply a finishing touch at the far post.

Eagles first threat on goal did not come until 36 minutes when they made a quick break from mid field to find Agyeman-Duah, who screwed his low shot wide of goal after breaking through the New Bradwell defence, but after 44 minutes they did go ahead. A long throw into the penalty area caused problems for the defence and Agyeman-Duah smashed the ball into the net from near the penalty spot. Eagles then had a succession of corners as New Bradwell struggled to clear the ball. On one occasion the keeper fumbled the ball at the near post but was just able to push the ball out of play as Eagles tried to force the ball into the net. Play swung to the other end and a shot from just inside Eagles penalty area cleared the cross bar.

Then minutes before the half time whistle Eagles got another goal. Keeper Adam Seymour sent a long goal kick into the New Bradwell half, the ball was played through the defensive line to Agyeman-Duah, who finished neatly from inside the penalty area .

Eagles created most of the goal chances in the second half. In the early stages two free kicks were headed wide of goal before Eagles got a third goal on the hour mark. It came from a corner deep into the New Bradwell penalty area which was pushed into the net from a few yards distance by Austin Christie. Minutes later a fourth goal was added. Eagles broke up play mid-way inside the new Bradwell half. Agyeman-Duah collected the ball outside the penalty area, weaved his way through a number of defenders and poked the ball past the keeper into the goal from the edge of the goal area. They nearly got another goal 6 minutes later when a cross was headed into the net, but the goal was ruled out for offside.

New Bradwell came more back into the game and around 70 minutes got a goal back when a low cross into Eagles penalty area was neatly sidefooted into the net from the edge of the goal area. They then won a free kick 20 yards from goal but a follow up low shot lacked power and was comfortably held by Seymour.  Another low shot then flashed inches wide of the goal.

In the final minutes Eagles missed a great chance to add a fifth goal. A long crossfield pass from half way released  an Eagles forward with a clear run on goal, but faced with an open goal he went for power and smashed ball against the post and to safety..
