Letchworth Garden City Eagles are safely through to the next round of the Isuzu FA Vase after an impressive 3–0 victory away at East Thurrock Community FC on Saturday.

The Eagles travelled to Rookery Hill looking to make their mark in the competition and were on the front foot from the opening stages, forcing the home goalkeeper into an early save before creating another opportunity shortly afterwards. The breakthrough arrived on 21 minutes to give Letchworth a deserved lead.

East Thurrock responded well and enjoyed their strongest spell as half-time approached, including an effort which came back off the post, but the Eagles defence stood firm to take a 1–0 advantage into the interval.

The second half brought an even more clinical display.

Letchworth doubled the advantage on 63 minutes with a chipped finish from around the edge of the area. The hosts continued to push and twice tested the Eagles goalkeeper soon afterwards, but Letchworth dealt with the pressure before adding a third to put the tie beyond doubt.

Loz, Jan and Bara were the three Eagles goalscorers on an afternoon which combined attacking quality with a clean sheet and a thoroughly professional away performance.

The final whistle confirmed a 3–0 win and, more importantly, a place in the next round of the FA Vase.

A brilliant result for the lads and another memorable afternoon for the club.
