Letchworth Garden City Eagles FC can confirm that First Team Manager Mark Nunn has stepped down from his role due to increasing work commitments.
Mark, affectionately known as ‘Nunny’, has made a significant contribution to the club and, whilst stepping away from First Team management, will remain an important member of the Club Committee, continuing to help shape and develop the senior football pathway for both our men’s and women’s teams.
Given the timing of the season, the club has decided that Chairman Simon Efford will take over as First Team Manager for the remainder of the campaign.
Simon previously stepped into the role three years ago during a particularly difficult period for the First Team, helping guide the side to safety against the odds.
The existing coaching structure will remain in place, with Marc Haynes continuing as Assistant Manager, providing important continuity for the club and players.
"Firstly, I want to put on record my sincere thanks to Nunny for everything he has done for the First Team. Managing a football club at this level takes an enormous amount of time and commitment, and I fully appreciate the effort he has put in. I'm absolutely delighted that he will remain involved with the club and on the committee. His passion for the Eagles and his commitment to developing our senior pathway, for both men's and women's football, will continue to be hugely valuable. On a personal note, I'm really looking forward to getting back involved with the First Team. I've missed being in the dugout and working closely with the players, so I'm genuinely excited about the challenge ahead. We've got a good group of players, an established coaching team and plenty of football still to play. I'll be working closely with Haynesy and the rest of the coaching staff to build on what is already in place. Our job is to get the best out of the players and make this a strong and successful season for the Eagles."
Simon Efford
The club would like to thank Mark for his continued commitment to the Eagles and looks forward to the remainder of the season under Simon and the existing coaching team.
