Eagles dismal run of results continued after goalkeeping mistakes led to another defeat.

Eagles started strongly and had their first chance to score after barely 5 minutes following a long ball out of defence which New Bradwell failed to clear properly, but the final shot from the edge of the penalty area was wide of goal. Within a minute some great football by Eagles led to another chance with a low shot from the edge of the penalty area blocked by the keeper’s feet at the foot of his post. Then Will Blair sent a direct free kick to Eagles high and wide of goal.

A couple of minutes later new Bradwell gained their own free kick near half way which landed in Eagles goal area before bouncing out of play just wide of goal.

In added time in the first half Eagles conceded 2 sucker goals. The first was a long punt upfield from near the right touchline not far inside Eagles half  which sailed over the head of a frantically back pedalling Sonny May into the goal as he was caught outside his goal area.5 minutes later it was 2-0 when a long throw into Eagles penalty area was deflected by a defender  to a New Bradwell forward standing near the penalty spot, who gratefully blasted the ball into the back of the net .

Most of the action in the second half was in the later stages of the game. On the hour mark Rod Agyeman -Duah dribbled through a pack of defenders but his final shot from inside the penalty area was just wide of goal.

Mid way through the half Eagles had a great let off after a long ball downfield was chased by new Bradwell. May dashed to the edge of his penalty area but failed to clear the ball. Fortunately, a covering defender was able block the ball near the goal line before May regained possession.

Then it was time for Eagles to celebrate as Jacob Skelly scored a magnificent goal, volleying the ball into the roof of the net from well outside the penalty area after New Bradwell failed to clear the ball from danger following a long throw into the penalty area. A few minutes later as Eagles turned on the pressure there was a scramble in the New Bradwell penalty area before a low shot  passed just wide of goal.

In the event it was the home side who gained the all important final goal in the final minutes of added time. Once more keeper May was at fault. Eagles lost possession of the ball in mid field and  when the ball was played forward May dashed from his goal but totally miskicked, leaving  his opponent with an open goal  and a tap in to an empty net.
